I'm Ryan from extremeterrain.com and this is my review of the Artec Industries Nighthawk Series Front Bumper, fitting all 2007 to 2016 JKs. Artec Industries is known for making some very high-quality products, and this is a good example of that. This thing is incredibly well-built, maybe even over-built for what a lot of us are gonna use it for, and it looks good as well, in my opinion. However, along with that comes a high price tag. And as you can see, this comes bare metal, so once you get it home, you still have to either paint it or powder coat it. So if you have the budget for it and you're looking for something that is as well-built, as strong, and as beefy as this thing is and you like the look of it, then maybe this is a good way to go. However, if you're looking for a stubby front bumper that is less expensive, we have those options available as well. Now, the first thing you'll notice about this bumper is that it is a stubby bumper, and it's a very stubby bumper. And some of you guys who are running a larger 37-inch tire will need that additional clearance so that you don't have a tire rub of the bumper. Others just really like this stubby look. It's really up to you why you purchase the stubby bumper. But if you're looking for a stubby, this is a great option. This has a built-in winch plate with, of course, a fair lead mount, and it looks to be drilled in a couple of different locations. Even though most winches have the same footprint, this has a couple of holes drilled in it, so no matter what winch you decide to go with, it's gonna bolt right up. It also has these D-ring tabs that are welded all the way through. It has threaded nutserts into the back of the bumper, which makes installation really easy. It'll install with bolt hardware through the frame horns from the back side right into those threaded nutserts, keeping everything really firmly planted on the front of the Jeep. This will also accept either your factory fog lights or an aftermarket square LED fog light or other auxiliary light right up in the front here, which is a nice feature. This has internal gusseting. When you pick this thing up, it weighs a ton. This is really, really well-built. It's made from eighth-inch, three-sixteenths-inch, and even quarter-inch laser-cut steel. The winch plate itself is quarter-inch, giving you, again, plenty of strength. The bumper also has cutouts to accept your factory fog lights or an aftermarket square LED fog light or other auxiliary light. It's also drilled along the bottom to accept Artec Industries skid plate that will soon be available for this bumper. This bumper will install on the front of your Jeep just like any other aftermarket stubby front bumper would, and that process is really simple. The first step is to remove your factory front bumper, which starts by unplugging the fog lights and removing the clips holding the fog light harness onto the bumper. So, from there, it's just a matter of removing the eight nuts that are holding the bumper onto the frame horn and removing that factory front bumper. From there, you can install this bumper with the included hardware. Before you get this bolted up to the Jeep, if you are installing a winch, which I imagine most of you are, you'll want to bolt the winch into the bumper and then install that whole package onto the Jeep as one piece. That is gonna be one heavy piece once the winch is bolted to it, so you'll probably want an extra set of hands. But it'll be easier to do that and then to try and get to the winch nut and bolt hardware once the bumper is bolted onto the Jeep. The other thing you'll wanna do before you bolt the bumper onto the Jeep is install your factory fog lights or other LED fog lights of your choice. The whole process shouldn't take you more than an hour, but you'll probably need a little bit more time to get your winch wired up. You won't need any specialty tools to get this job done, just a socket set.The second you take this bumper out of the box, you can just tell that a lot of time went into the design, and time and material went into building this bumper. So a lot of people, myself included, would say it's worth the price you have to pay for it. That being said, not everyone has a budget for a bumper like this. If you are somebody who's looking for an incredibly well-built bumper that gives you a bit of a unique style and you have the budget for it, I would definitely recommend this bumper. I don't see anything that would deter me from putting this on my Jeep. However, if you're somebody who doesn't quite have the budget for this, there are other stubby front bumpers out there on the market that may not be quite as well-built, but will have similar features that will save you a couple of dollars. So, if you're looking for a stubby front bumper, either because you need the clearance for your large tires or you just like that stubby bumper look and you want something that will accept your factory fog lights or aftermarket and has a built-in winch plate, this is a great option. This is an incredibly well-built bumper that has a price tag to go with it, so if you have the budget for it, I definitely recommend taking a look at this Artec Industries bumper. So that's my review of the Artec Industries Nighthawk Series Front Bumper, fitting all 2007 to 2016 JKs, that you can find right here at extremeterrain.com.
